The History
In 1847 crown land sale, allotments 31 and 32, bounded by the present Toorak, Williams, Malvern and Canterbury Roads, an area of about 105 acres were purchased by Thomas Colclough. Colclough subdivided the allotment into large estates, erected a comfortable home and named the property Tintern, after Tintern Abbey, Ireland. Later, in 1902 Tintern’s grounds were subdivided into building allotments and Tintern Avenue was created.
Today, the avenue is graced by historic homes and gardens, including the Tintern House and Gardens, the Hansen House, the Watson House and many other period homes.
The Vision
Our Vision is to create a most luxurious and vibrant apartment living In Toorak.
One where you are situated on a beautiful leafy avenue that is quintessential Toorak, away from the hustle and bustle of a busy street, and yet only a short stroll to the vibrant Toorak village, parks, clubs and transport.
To create an architecture that deserves attention, landscaping to capture the essence of Toorak, and a stunning and welcoming foyer for you and your guests.
To create internal spaces and exquisite interiors with painstaking attention to detail that will provide for a pleasurable and highly functional living environment.
To provide facilities, including a highly equipped gymnasium, elegantly furnished resident’s lounge, undercover car parks, storage rooms and security that will further enhance your lifestyle.
To contribute to sustainable living by installing thermally insulated double glazed windows, making allowances for solar panels and electric vehicle charges to be installed for each apartment, a large water tank for the luscious gardens, and sustainably harvested timbers for our flooring.
To further support our vision, we sourced designer Italian kitchens and wardrobes, and artisan hand-made timber floor boards from Slavonian oaks made in Hungary. We’ve used European tiles and appliances, and quality fixtures throughout. Colour palettes were carefully designed to create elegant and sophisticated interiors with a modern approach to traditional Toorak interiors, not being overly warm or cool. Particular attention was given to lighting design inside and out to enhance the level of sophistication.
